A town of great historical significance, Cohasset was first seen by Europeans through explorer Captain John Smith in 1614 and settled in the 1670s. With a proud maritime history, Cohasset is home to the Maritime Museum and the Captain John Wilson Historic House. Cohasset Historical Society owns the house and also has its own museum to share some of the local history and customs.
